He’s your ice-cream man. Stop him when he’s passing by.

How did you land this gig? It’s only my fifth day on the job. I usually do a lot of general labor, warehouse work, and I was just trying to pick up a couple extra bucks. I know Alex Sadeghi, the guy that owns Pars Ice Cream, the distributor. He offered me the truck to drive.

And what a truck it is. Oh, this is a classic. It doesn’t even have any power steering! [Laughs]

Philosophically, what does Good Humor mean to you? It means boarding the truck every day with a good attitude and high integrity to make sure the customers leave with their ice cream and a smile.

What’s your biggest seller? The Double Caramel Magnum bar! The kids love the SpongeBob Popsicles.

Your personal favorite? The Choco Taco!

Nothing like ice cream in the form of another foodstuff. Yessir.

Do you hear those incessant ice-cream truck jingles in your nightmares? Yes, I do! Yes. I. Do. There are six different tunes this thing plays. The other day, my grandmama’s phone was ringing, and I could’ve sworn it was the truck. I even hum some of the songs to my little children at night.

How old are your kids? I have a seven-year-old, and my youngest will be one year tomorrow. It’s a beautiful thing.

They have to love Dad’s new job. They get real excited when they see me coming down the block, yup. My seven-year-old makes sure he brings his piggy bank.

You make him pay? Sometimes. I give him the family discount.
