Baboon companion
Call me a nerd, but I love scouring art-museum gift shops for finely rendered reproductions of works in the collection—mostly a thing of the past. So I was pleasantly surprised to find this Picasso Sculpture ($180), a flawless reproduction (complete with simulated oxidation) of Picasso’s Maquette for Richard J. Daley Center Monument. The original maquette is in the Art Institute of Chicago’s collection, and the famous, full-sized Daley Plaza sculpture is the heart of the city—even if we can’t tell whether that heart belongs to an aardvark, baboon or woman. Rubbing Chicago all over your naked body never felt so good. The Chicago Flag Soap Bar ($12) smells like mint plants and lemongrass—quite unlike our exhaust fume–filled town—and it’s vegan to boot. Ethically Engineered made the soap by hand in, you guessed it, Chicago. Available at Renegade Handmade.
