On the go

Fast lane
Traveling with kids just became a lot easier, thanks to the Transportation Security Administration. According to the TSA, every airport in America has opened new “green lanes,” which will allow families, folks unfamiliar with air-travel procedures and special-needs travelers to go through security at their own pace. With all of the slowpokes quarantined, you’ll have a better chance at breezing through the security lines, but you’ll still need to remove your shoes.

Porter authority
With the launch of Porter Airlines, direct international flights have returned to Midway Airport. The Toronto-based airline recently inaugurated service between Chicago and Toronto City Centre Airport. When we searched flights on the airline’s website, we found $112 one-way fares for the second weekend in December and about three flights between the cities each day. Visit flyporter.com for more information.

Check up
United Airlines is still charging customers to check bags, but now you can pre-pay the fee for up to five bags when checking in online within 24 hours of your flight. As an added bonus during the holidays, if you pay on united.com through January 31, you’ll also save $3 on the fee for your first checked bag ($12 instead of $15). The airline recently announced that the fee to check a second bag remains $25 each way.
